Anyone with 3 cents of land of their own can say things about building a trust-related home. Only when they come and look at things and prove that they are eligible to get such a house will the house construction start. This is how they provide housing anywhere in Kerala.

Father Jijo Kurian, who put forward such an idea, says that although he started it as a social activity, the construction of houses can be completed with the help of many people. Initially, the house was built in the form of a cabin at a cost of Rs 1.5 lakh. But since the need was for families, such houses were not enough and then came up with the idea of bigger houses. At present, with the increase in the cost of materials required for house construction, houses completed at a cost of Rs 2.5 lakh can be completed at a cost of only Rs 3 lakh. The main thing they say in order to build a house like this is to build a house only for those who are deserving of the work that needs to be done immediately, such as widows and parents in an old age home. Many are also coming forward to give land to those who are currently landless. This act of building a house irrespective of caste and religion is certainly commendable.
